We used Retail Solutions reports to identify each store which had run out-of-stock, and based on the sales rate at stores without out-of-stocks, we quantified the amount of under-allocation for each item in the promotion at the most granular level. [...] As a result, the sales for the October promotion were 167% higher than the sales for the September promotion, with the out-of-stock rate dropping down to just above 10%, 8 points below the prior event rate.

Every year, consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies launch over 50,000 promotions with retailers, accounting for over 20% of their revenue. However, it is estimated that 40% of promotions fail to achieve their revenue goals. How much of this failure rate is due to over-ambitious goal setting? How much to poor design? How much to imperfect store execution? How much to a combination of the three?
Retail Solutions takes a revolutionary, execution-centric approach to promotion management: our algorithms help CPG companies accurately determine whether a promotion both was in stock and executed correctly in each store, to then help you design future promotion with higher availability, better execution and more accurate goals.
Retail Solutions customers leverage downstream data to analyze past promotions and understand what makes a promotion successful at the most granular level - for each product, at each store. They are then able to apply this knowledge to design and execute the most effective promotions. Some of Retail Solutions use cases for promotion management include:
