Analytic Consultant
Location: Cranston, RI
The Senior Analytic Consultant is responsible for driving all phases of RSi's most strategic customer projects, primarily related to out-of-stock reduction and improved promotion execution - from statement of work definition to project completion. These highly visible projects are typically sponsored by Vice Presidents at the world's very largest consumer products manufacturers and often involve collaborative work with their retail partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead collaborative strategic projects with key customers using RSi software and analytical techniques to quantify the extent of lost sales due to out-of-stocks and/or poor promotion execution along with measures of their primary failure modes and root causes
- Perform business process mapping and engineering in support of pilot tests that will scientifically demonstrate ROI to the customer
- Manage customer expectations and RSi deliverables while maintaining the continuously high customer satisfaction that RSi is known for
- Capture feedback from customer engagements to continuously improve RSi’s service offerings and drive requirements definition for enhancing RSi’s analytic applications
Skills and Experience Required:
- BS Degree with 0-2+ years relevant supply chain, operations, category management studies or related experience preferably in the consumer products or retail industries
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills demonstrated by experience and references; experience developing data-driven analytical models of various operations / policies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills, particularly with customers present
- Excellent people skills
- Software skills such as Excel (required), Access, VBA, SQL, Monte Carlo Simulation, Matlab, etc. are highly valued
- Working knowledge of related enterprise software applications (e.g., SAP, i2, Retek, SAS, Cognos) is highly valued

Data Operations Engineer
Location: Cranston, RI
The Data Operations Engineer is responsible for data management, accuracy, validation, and loading. Process and monitor all inbound and outbound documents (852's, 850's, 865's, 997's, etc). Coordinate and test all EDI implementations with new EDI partners using e-Commerce services. Production data and analytics support. Constant interaction with all levels within the organization. Must be able to work in a team environment. Ability and willingness to learn new proprietary applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor the daily processing of EDI transactions.
- Manage data flow and accuracy from many data trading partners, from data receipt through production load into internal systems.
- Introduce innovative approaches to data access and data mining.
- Create, document and maintain all EDI mappings and trading partner relationships.
- Must be able to interact with outside vendors in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
- Support end users by data mining and validation using SQL tools and Oracle databases
- Resolve technical mapping variations or gaps and first-level troubleshooting issues in production environment.
- Work with trading partners and internal functional teams to
troubleshoot data issues and mapping issues.
- Answer production support emails and voice mails.
- Maintain EDI documentation and develop clear and up-to-date
procedures.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
- 2-5 years experience with EDI data
- Knowledge of Sterling Commerce and Gentran is required, additional AS2 knowledge preferred
- Working knowledge of FTP/SFTP
- Working knowledge of relational databases is required, Oracle/SQL Server/MSAS knowledge a plus.
- Experience managing EDI files required, retailer data experience preferred.
- Experience with the CPG industry preferred
- Knowledge of Computer and related programs (MS Office environment, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc; MS Access and MS Project nice to have)
- Some knowledge of any programming/scripting experience a STRONG plus.
- Must be customer service oriented with strong follow up skills
- Must have strong organizational skills; be able to prioritize tasks, and multi-task. Creative, problem solving skills.
Additional Requirements
- Must be available for weekend on-call for production data support semimonthly

- Master’s Degree (PhD preferred) with 5+ years relevant supply chain, operations, category management or related experience preferably in the consumer products or retail industries
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills demonstrated by experience and references; experience developing data-driven analytical models of various operations / policies
- Deep understanding of forecasting and replenishment policies and practices
- Proven program management skills: conceptualizing, planning, estimating and executing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills, particularly with customers present
- Excellent people skills and ability to build strong relationships with paying customers
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a timely manner
- Knowledge of RFID, Barcodes and UCC standards is desirable
- Software skills such as Excel (required), Access, VBA, SQL, Monte Carlo Simulation, Matlab, etc. are highly valued
- Working knowledge of related enterprise software applications (e.g., SAP, i2, Retek, SAS, Cognos) is highly valued
