Brian Ascher

Partner, Venrock Associates

Brian Ascher joined Venrock Associates in 1998 as a Kauffman Fellow. He is now a Partner in Venrock's Menlo Park office and focuses on software and information technology investments. Brian is a Director of Atrenta, Datallegro, RelayHealth, Retail Solutions, Unicru, Vocera Communications and Winery Exchange. Prior to Venrock, Brian was Senior Product Manager for Intuit's Quicken.com website and earlier, Product Manager of Quicken for Windows. Previous to his work with Intuit, Brian worked as a Strategy Consultant at Monitor Company where he advised clients worldwide on issues of management and strategy. Brian holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Byron Deeter

Principal, Bessemer Venture Partners

Byron Deeter is a Principal in Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) Menlo Park office. He concentrates on the software, Internet, Radio Frequency (RFID) and gaming sectors

Most recently, Byron was an Executive at IBM as a result of its 2004 acquisition of Trigo Technologies, the product information management company that he co-founded. At Trigo, Byron served as the founding President & CEO, then became Vice President of Business Development as the company grew to profitability with 150 employees, and over $40+ million run-rate. BVP worked closely with Byron and the executive team after Trigo's founding in 1999 and invested in all institutional financing rounds.

Prior to Trigo, Byron worked in private equity with TA Associates where he focused on early stage technology investing. He came to TA from McKinsey & Company.

Byron holds a degree with honors from U.C. Berkeley in political economy. He was named a California Emerging Leader Scholar and an Alumni Scholar, and was a varsity member of U.C. Berkeley's national championship rugby team.

Jonathan Golovin, Ph.D.

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Jonathan Golovin (Jon) is the Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Retail Solutions. Previously, Dr. Jonathan Golovin was the founder and Chairman of Consilium Inc., the largest independent Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) company (now Applied Materials). Jon is considered the father of MES and was awarded the 2000 SEMI Award for his contributions. Consilium’s list of customers included the majority of the large semiconductor companies such as Intel, Hitachi, AMD, Hyundai, just to name a few, as well as many of the largest pharmaceutical companies such as Abbott Laboratories. Jon is also the founder and former CEO of Vigilance, the leading event management system.

Richard Swan, Ph.D.

Chief Technical Officer

Dr. Richard Swan is the CTO and co-founder of Retail Solutions. Immediately prior to forming Retail Solutions, Richard was Technical Director for Auto-ID at SAP. At SAP, Richard formed and led the team that established SAP as an early leader in responding to the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) opportunity. Prior to SAP, Richard led Digital Equipment Corporation’s (now HP’s) Western Research Laboratory and created DEC’s Network Systems Laboratory. Earlier in his career, Richard was Vice President of VLSI Test Systems at Megatest Corporation (now Teradyne) where he lead the development of an industry leading "tester-per-pin" architecture system adopted by leading semiconductor companies, including IBM and Texas Instruments.

Bob Todd

Partner, Red Rock Ventures

Bob Todd is an entrepreneur with 20 years of experience with technology companies. He has founded or been a founding investor/director in several start-ups, two of which are now public companies, with combined annual sales in excess of $6 billion. Bob's operating experience includes 10 years as a founder and CEO of Flextronics and five years as the CEO of CAS, Inc. Bob holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and an A.B. in statistics from Princeton University.

Andreas Weiskam

Partner, SAP Ventures

Andreas Weiskam joined SAP Ventures in July 2006. He has been with SAP since 2001 and has held several corporate and business development positions. Before his career at SAP, Andreas worked in several start-up companies and co-founded Zadu, a venture backed start-up in the area of Instant Messaging Technology. Andreas holds a graduate business degree Diplom-Kaufmann from the University of Hamburg, Germany and an M.Litt. with distinction in Management, Economics and Politics from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
